Questions & Answers on the Mystical Path

Questions and Answers - The Journey Home

For many people who strongly identify with their persona or mask that they live through or in they need to have answers to everything. This because they feel threatened by questions, they prefer the stability of the known rather than the unknown. As time goes on we develop (hopefully!) and begin to allow questions into our lives. "Who am I? Why am I here? and so on."
We then spend many years searching for answers to these questions in all sorts of places. Most of the time we find that we get an answer and return to living in our persona again or the answers we get create more questions.

On the mystical path, the longer you can hold the question without looking for an answer the more realised you’ve become. First we go searching for God, we don’t even know what questions to ask, but we have answers to everything! Then we have lots of questions, Who am I ?, Why am I here? Why did this happen? And we look for answers.

Then each question leads to another and we stop searching for God and start mapping our reality by holding the questions and not looking for the answers because we know the question itself contains everything we need.

Then we reach a point of time transcendence where we no longer need to understand everything. Holding the question has developed in us a knowing, a wisdom space that can just be without any struggle or need.

So now I no longer need to understand or question or seek answers I can enjoy the surprise, the mystery of not knowing, and the delight.

What a relief it can be, it can take so much energy to constantly strive to understand, to rationalise, to ultimately try to control everything through the mind. Yet there is a deeper knowing beyond this, above the thoughts. One that can be heard when the mind is free and still. You can begin to really notice and see what’s real and what’s not real but just an illusion and construct of the mind itself.

The fog of confusion is lifted and clarity shines out like the radiant sun, illuminating everything. Then there is a moment where you go ‘aaaahhhh’ yes now I know; now I can see. Cultivate this attitude to your life and it will return many rewards.

Ask a question and hold it in your heart and if answers come thank them and send them back again. Continuing to hold the question maybe changed, like a precious jewel not to be sullied by answers. And then a wonderful thing will happen you will begin to shift, to change to transform.

The preciousness of that question in your heart will draw to it the deepest Self in all its glory. Because you have sent back the trinkets offered, the soul would awaken from its slumber and realise that you are ready for true connection. You have tamed the mind and seek something more.

Oh what a joyful day it is for the soul to respond to such a request. The entire universe celebrates when such an event arises and a human being awakens to the flowering of spiritual consciousness.

Congratulations, John, on your Blog. I have enjoyed the Articles to date and particularly this one on Intentions & Hopes. I am applying what I am learning to my current situation.

Thanks,

Thanks John...yet again you provide inspiration for me !
I resonate with the notion of holding the unanswered questions as sufficient, it allows me to connect more with the "void" aspect rather than the "form" aspect of God...I am surrounded by "the cloud of unkowing" these days. My challenge is to really embrace it in myself.

May your work continue to be blessed.
